Charities

Good day!

Rev. Lorie here;

Christmas is for sharing love, joy, and hope. There are so many families out there that need our help all year round. We have the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle; we have the Angel Trees. There is Adopt a Family. These are the most known ones; however, the lesser-known charities also rely on the goodness of our hearts.
One such charity has come to my attention. Warm and Cozy, with zed. Phyllis and Brian Stanley started this charity 15 years ago when Brian went on a school trip with his grandson to Ste. Marie Among the Hurons.
It was a cold December day, and a little girl appeared distressed. She was only wearing shoes not suitable for the outing. The teacher gave the little girl a pair of rubber boots; finding her feet blistered, Brian called Phyllis to find out what to do. She told him to go and get some balm, woolly socks and winter boots.
Phyllis went to the school in Victoria Harbour, talked to the secretary, and found out this was the way it was. Many children need some essential items. Winter clothing, socks, underwear etc. Basic needs.
She started Warm and Cozy out of her house. She accepts donations and goes out and buys what is needed. So every child in need will get a big bag of clothing.
She was telling me of a child that didn’t have a winter coat, she had one in her car, and she prayed that it would fit this little child. It did. The child couldn’t believe that it was now their coat. Children should only go with the essentials, especially this time of the year.
If you would like to help out with a donation, you may make it to https://warmandcozychildrencharity.ca.
Phyllis is an angel. She truly puts her faith in believing that miracles happen and often happen for her. So, let’s make it a big blessing and get children into warm and cozy clothes.
Thank you.
