Rainy day memories
Today as I sit and watch the rainfall, it reminds me of a moment in my childhood where it was raining. We had to wear a raincoat and the only one my mother had was a clear plastic one with bright emerald green polka dots.
She made me wear it to school. I resisted by saying it was ugly. Truth be known, besides being ugly, it was long. It was literally to the ground and it scraped as I walked. Everyone made fun of me because here I was this blob under and green polka dot raincoat.
So as the drops keep coming down, remembering that raincoat and realizing that my mom made me wear it to protect me against the rain. Now, I would wear it in a heartbeat.
As our Father in heaven, he too is like a raincoat. He comes to protect us in the good, the bad and the ugly times in our lives. He is there putting his arms around us, just like that raincoat.
Blessings.
