St. Veronica Prayer St. Veronica, pray for us to our Lord Jesus that His Holy Face may be imprinted on our hearts, so that we may always be mindful of His tortuous Passion and Death, which he endured for love of us. Dearest St. Veronica, increase our desire to gaze upon that most radiant face of our Redeemer, that face that so closely resembles the faceof His mother, Mary. May our longing for the beatific vision, of beholding God face to face, motivate us to give our lives away in service to the Lord. May we ceaselessly search for Christian…

On October 4th 2020, St. Francis of Assisi Day, I delivered my first homily for our service for my church. I will tell you I was so nervous, excited and freaking out. Why you ask? Simply put, homiletics is not my strong suit when it comes to becoming a Priest. I would like to think I am a writer, as I do love to write. However, the thoughts and words in my head don’t necessarily translate to the keyboard. Poetry, it tends to come easier. Prayers, they tend to come easier if I don’t stress over trying to make it…

There is a great deal more to me than just a pretty face. Well, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder as my Nana use to say. However at St. Veronica, we do more than just pray for people, volunteer. We also do Weddings, Funerals, Celebration of Life and of course Baptisms. I have been fortunate over the past couple of years to be able to marry so many wonderful couples. Photo by Linda Peterson I even married a couple this year during the COVID-19 under proper conditions of course. This couple is very close…

Well on September 2, 2020, I went back to volunteering at the Seniors Residence, King Place here in Midland Ontario. It has been a very long time since I was there last. We figured it out after the service I did at 10:30 am that it has been since March. For me that is a lifetime as I really enjoy my time there. I am back every two weeks doing a service. That is fine, I can deal with that. It just feels good. I miss the Ladies and Gentlemen there. There is one bad habit that I must break.…

Well it has been a bit since I last posted. I will admit, I have been busy with my studies with lots of reading and homework. I was never a great student and sometimes the struggle has been there. Especially last week, between the tough class and literally suffering cluster migraines all week long, not my best week. I have been reading my bible in between the Divine Office and our books for our classes. So this morning I opened it up to look for something else and I stopped at Romans 12 9-21. I read this passage and it…

We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Lord God, you have given us the great day of rejoicing: Jesus Christ, the stone rejected by the builders has become the cornerstone of the Church, our spiritual home. Shed upon our Church the rays of your glory, that it may be seen as the gate of salvation open to all nations. Let cries of joy and exultation ring out from its tents, to celebrate the wonder of Christ’s resurrection.

Good morning, I hope everyone is being safe and staying inside for the most part. I realize how hard it is to stay inside the whole time. We do need to get grocery’s and prescriptions. For me, this has been a bit trying. I am not allowed to go to the seniors home and do my volunteering. My volunteering has now been writing letters and making cards for the residents. I would rather this, than getting them ill. For Hospice Huronia, I am talking to my clients either by facetime or by phone. So this is all new for us…

Good afternoon, here is a posting from 680 news regarding weddings and funerals in Ontario. https://www.680news.com/2020/03/17/coronavirus-weddings-funerals-in-ontario-with-more-than-50-people-banned/ I understand that this is so extraordinary times we are living in. I feel for anyone going through this. My church has had to cancel several special services. I am here for anyone who needs someone to talk to. Grief is hard enough to go through but to somehow have to cancel a funeral because of having more than 50 people is heartbreaking. If you are in the Midland, Ontario area and you have no one to do a funeral for your loved one.…

Ask, Seek, Knock “Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who ask will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock. Would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread? Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish? As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give…
